What are missed calls costing your business?

Move the sliders to your own numbers. The result is an estimate of potential revenue going unworked each month, not a promise of what any system would recover. It is meant to tell you whether the problem is worth fixing.

From your phone system or mobile. Include calls that went to voicemail.
Take out suppliers, sales calls and existing customers. Half is a reasonable start.
If you quote ten and win four, that is 40 percent.
Use a conservative average, not your biggest job.

Estimated revenue unworked each month

£1,733

5 jobs a month that went to whoever answered next

Over a year

£20,790 This is an estimate based on your inputs. It ignores the lifetime value of a customer who returns and refers, so it is usually conservative. It is not a guarantee of what any answering solution would recover.

How the estimate works

Missed calls multiplied by the share that were genuine enquiries gives the enquiries lost. Multiplied by your win rate, that is the jobs lost. Multiplied by your average job value, that is the revenue. We round to whole jobs and show a monthly and annual figure.

Where the numbers come from

Your phone provider or mobile will show missed calls. The share that were genuine enquiries is a judgement: look at the unknown numbers among your missed calls over a few weeks. Your win rate is quotes won divided by quotes sent. Average job value comes from your invoices. If you would rather have this worked out from real call data, the reporting in Step Into AI shows missed calls and enquiries by source once the phone system is in place.

What to do with the result

Compare it with the cost of answering the calls. The AI receptionist is included in the Answer plan from £79 a month. For most businesses that miss more than a handful of calls a week, the comparison is not close.
